Today we hopped on the ferry to Vik, home of the Hopperstad Stave Church, built around 1140. It was restored to its original condition the 1880s and has been maintained as a national treasure ever since. I bought a pack of cards depicting the church in snow, great watercolor.

When we got back to Balestrand we visited the local art gallery owned by Bjorg Bjoberg, the artist who did the church painting. She has lots of art cards, so I bought some to use for Christmas cards.

Here's a map of Sognefjord.
